I am on th elookout for an IN2.
Please email me if you have one that you are willing to part with.
I am looking particularly for a 240V model but
I most likely will be able to upgrade the voltage myself from 110V.
Thanks

I guess there is not that much movement of IN2's
Maybe a way around it is to install a DI into my F-2B?
Could the DI parts from a F-1X be retrofitted
as a kit into the F-2B?
This looks like a question that Mica may be able to answer.
Any elegant solutions?

IIRC, Edwin has a DR-5 with two XLR inputs in his shop, but it's his personal equipment.

The last time we saw an IN-2 (and there are precious little sightings) it changed hands between members senmen and jseitang.

Must have been that double DR-5 then...

Sorry, just caught a glimpse of it before I was distracted and immediately preoccupied by one of the mothership's creations from last year. (about six weeks ago)

Good luck with yer search!

slawie-
yes the last time an in-2 showed its face was when senmen sold it to me. ;)
that said,i sent the in-2 to alembic to give it a tune up and conversed into 120v and inspection
its still at alembic.
now there has been a lot of talk about the in-2 repro's- i know because ive talked to mica at length about this project. its slated to be done.
things take time. esp when they are done with the upmost care and quality. these things take time. ive waited on the in-2 in the market for years. not to worry! mica has told me before, it will take some time. they are a family business. trust me, you wont be dissapointed.
as far your DI solution, there are members that have modded their preamps to allow di connections.
im not sure where in the club site tho.

Yes Adriaan I saw that also after a search happened back in 2008.
Thanks Jimy you lucky son-of-a-gun!
If you ever think of parting with it keep me in mind. If you wouldn't mind
I will buy the parts taken off that are discarded in the conversion.

Thanks everyone for helping in my quest for the holy grail.

Guys,
to make you a bit nervous.
Edwin Van Huik still has one. He originally had two custom made, the one I sold to Jimi and the one he still owns.
But, he will never sell this I can tell you.....

I still want one. Maybe if I persist the good folks at Alembic
will get sick of me posting and get one out to me.
Maybe the schematics so I can compile/build my own?!?!

Slawie,

Don't give up. I really like mine and it's worth the wait for the Series bass enthusiast.

It may be a long shot, but Daryl Jones from lowdbass.com had one of these in his personal collection. Back when I was looking for one I would pester him for it from time to time. I would think he still has it. He is a dealer, so he may just let it go if you offer the right persuasion.

Slawie,

I don't mind, but I really don't understand the question you are asking.

I know that Daryl had this one for many years and I would pester him periodically for it. He said he wasn't ready to part with it. He eventually put me on to someone he knew that had one. So I got in touch with him and we struck a deal. It was kind of a strange situation because the person I bought it from kept calling it a pre-amp. If I remember right, he told me that it may need repair because he could not get it to work. I guess if he was trying to use it as a pre-amp, then it was busted! I bought it for an odd price, I think it was like $130.00 or something.

Is that what you are asking? If not let me know!

Fast forward a few years and my IN-2 sat in flood water for a couple of weeks. It was in a rack in a studio in the deepest part of the Katrina flood in New Orleans. Once the national guard let me back in the neighborhood, my nephew and I broke the door down just so I could go in and get the IN-2!!! Also in my rack was one of the first Alembic pre-amps made. It's an F2, the predecessor to the F2-B. I hosed the salt water out of the IN-2 and the F2 and both still work perfectly today.

Both VERY sturdy pieces of gear.

Michael,
I made an offer which was more than $130.00. Thanks for the
info. I remember you were affected by Katrina.
How is it going for you and those around you. I don't mind

Time for my regular bump.
Maybe the folks at Alembic will get sick up and fed of mposting and break one out of the archives.
At least maybe a schematic diagram so I can build my own!?!?!

Do add names to this wish list... After the DS-5 and DS-5R with our new sheetmetal fabricator, I'm going to try really hard to make the IN-2 a reality.

notfadeaway; it doesn't change your tone, it's not a preamp or superfilter, all it does is insure that your fingers always hit the right notes.

For pics and a description from what appears to be an old catalog page, go here.
