2000 Alembic Series I 5 String Bass Body Style: Balance K Point Top And Back: Coco bola Body Accent: Maple Core: Mahogany Neck: Maple and Purpleheart Wide thin neck specs(very easy to play) 1 ¾ inch at the nut 3 inch at the 24 fret Neck Inlays: Mother of pearl ovals Electronics: Series I with a master volume control Condition: The bass looks perfect from 3 feet away, but if you look closely there are about 20 little impressions (does not break the clear coat) around the input jack. Looks like maybe the jack on the cord may have made these. On the back side there is a hairline crack by the electronics plate which is about and inch long that runs from the plate to the end (seems to be very stable – really not that bad). Neither of these affects the sound or playability of the bass. The crack can be fixed for a few hundred or you can get the whole bass refinished by Alembic for a little over a thousand dollars (best to call Mica for exact costs). The bass definitely does not need a refinish but if you want the bass to be mint it is an option. One other item worth noting it the battery cover has a tight fit. The bass is very beautiful and at first glance looks mint but if you look carefully these items can be found. Sound: Stunning! I have owned several Alembics and this has to be at the top of the list. If you have ever heard an Alembic Series Bass with Cocobola you know exactly what I mean. If not, the best way I can describe it is thundering lows and crystal clear highs that ring forever (definitely the grand piano of basses). I know all Alembics sound like this right? What until you hear this one. Additional items: DS-R5 (Rackmount power supply) 5 Pin cord Original Case – End latch is broken and the bottom is a little ruff (still protects). Looking to get $5,000 I will post better pictures in the next few days. Thought I would post it here before eBay. Thanks |

Thank you for the nice comments. The bass is currently on hold until Saturday and there are a few others interested. I'll let you know this weekend if the bass is still available. If the bass hasn't sold I will post a message with more pics. |
