I'm looking for an alembic with the crown headstock in the "distillate" price range. I might consider a persuader or spoiler with the right top or a signature if it is priced low enough. Nothing with an offset body like an epic or essence. Let me know! Thanks

Thanks, but I forgot to mention I'd prefer one without a maple top!

How about Zebrawood? One built in '83 just went up for sale ($2250) at Lark Street Music in Jersey. From the photos it looks clean except for having the jack area broken and reinforced. Ask for Buzzy.

Thanks for the link. Nice looking bass but I think I'll wait til something pops up without a major repair like that!

Okay, I bought the one mentioned above at Lark Street. My first Alembic bass. Always wanted one since the 70s.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's great. Plays like a dream. Sounds like a dream.
(The jack has been repaired most solidly; it's not going anywhere.)

Nice guys there. I'm bringing in a couple of my basses for fret dressing this week. I haven't developed my filing skills yet.
Congrats. Alembics can be addicting.
