Sad that you are selling, that bass serves you very well. The stinger looks great.

Thanks guys, just so you all know I'm selling the bass because I need the money for other things not because I don't love the bass anymore.

Thanks Taylor and Dave
I had to do a gut check and went through with it. Victor is a great guy to work with.

It turns out this will be my first Alembic. After we made the deal, I got a call from a family member who really needed our help. Needless to say I had nothing left to purchase the 1992 Elan I wanted. I am not complaining though. I am sure I will enjoy this bass for a very long time.

Thanks Art. I have enjoyed our phone conversations and have learned a lot about Alembics from you. I will contact you as soon as it arrives. BTW. I have told the guy who has the Elan about our forum. I hope he joins us and place his bass up for sale. He was not aware of the club.

Craig,
I humbly agree. And of course you know I am referring to the seller, who is also, IMHO, a talented musician and composer.

I saw this quote online:
Victor Wooten
“I’ve been a fan of Victor’s bass playing for a long time. This CD, “Inner Portrait”, shows that his writing skills are also top notch. With a name like ‘Victor’, how can he go wrong?”

There are also cool bass players named Craig...

Thanks Steve,
I saw that beautiful MK burl you just obtained. Man it's sweet. I hope I have at least half of the fun you are having with yours.

Vic,is sending it to the mother ship for a
once over(brass polished, touchups if needed). it will be sent to from there.

This being my first Alembic, I am going to just look at for a while, then pick it up and go to work.
I have a MarkBass 151 (Jeff Berlin), I'll be playing it through to start out with. I may need some suggestions for a lightweight rig to play on small to medium gigs with the cats. Mostly jazz, blues, gospel, and christian rock.

Hey Bill,
You can start a thread for avice on bass rigs and get plenty of suggestions!
OMG.....I just saw Victor's you tube clip. What a picker! I always loved that technique.
When I play (or attempt to play) like that I have to really concentrate.
He makes it look easy. A real picker's picker he is!

Thanks Steve. For what it's worth, I am a couple of months from 52 and I have yet to get that 12 pointer. Lot's of good hunting here in Michigan though.

That's a good idea to start a separate thread for light rigs.I think i will do just that later. Keep picking brother. My hill to climb is slapping. Currently learning bebop scales...:-)
