Beautiful 5 stings Excel color translucent black. In very good condition ( few minor dings ) sound awsome , very thick. This bass have been owned by Dannobasso and lowlife, here is the thread where they swaped it: http://alembic.com/club/messages/395/72231.html.build with dual fatboy pickup. Neck is perfect and very easy to play with.
I'm looking for an Epic 4 or any other 4 strings.

I can tell you this bass gets a huge sound. The fatboys simply perform incredibly. Since I received this one, all my subsequent customs have fatboys. Vol, pan, tone, Q

Hi I'm selling an Orion 4 string and a Mark King 4 string. I would consider a swap, the Orion for your 5 string. Check out the pictures of the Orion and email me. I'm a new member too, welcome to the club.

Tonight i had a try on this legendary bass, the very attractive Rickenbaker 4003. He was aking 1700$ . The bass was perfectly clean but the setup was so bad. The string more then a 1/4 inch high, too big for the saddle ( i had to push it so hard to get them in place so they were not responding to tuner) Neck was curve. And all this using a 15 watts line 6 bass Amp.

That make me realize how my Excel is such an amazing bass. For those who worry i'll never trade BB (black beauty) foor this one lol

I forgot to say that this bass have filter and q-switch rather than bass treble. With 2 fatboy pickups it make its sound very unique.

I might be interested to trade for a Distillate, rogue..

I've got a Rickenbacker 4001 C64 in black with white pickguard. Sounds great- removed the capacitors for low end from bridge horseshoe pickup. Been looking to get a 5'er. Interested?

how about a trade for a near mint 76 Gibson EB3?
I also have a 95 rick 4001 in the fire glow red, new bridge, og hard case, great action but the frets are getting there i think, it plays best with a lite touch. let me know, I have about 20 basses in my colection but only 2 Alembics! I really like the look of your bass!

In the second set of pics, it looks like she's strung with tapewound strings.

I thought I was the only one to do that on a fretted alembic. Guess not.
