Just saw this post on a short scale series II. Is this too good to be true or what? Wished I liverd near there.

Just found this old post on it, owner listed in Boulder, CO. FC has it on his data site.

Wow. What a gorgeous piece of Alembic history! If I hadn't just bought a new non-Alembic 5-string I think I would be tempted to do something stoopid to get the cash together to land that beauty.

For what it's worth, the person on this site listed as having owned the series II bass sent me this email about it.

Dave
I sold the bass on eBay to a fellow in Kansas City. The tampa Craigslist sounds like a scam.

Allen here,
I sold the bass on EBay (my ID, allen-303) on Feb 16th to someone in KC. My pictures and my description on the Craigslist posting in Tampa does not seem right!! The buyer in KC was very happy.

Thanks for the warning, I was going to tell a relative in Tampa about it who is a physician , but now I think I will hold off with that.

I'm the guy in KC. The craigslist ad is absolutely bogus and I've flagged it to no avail. Thanks again, Allen, and yes I am very happy to have it.

Guys this is 100% bogus. I contacted the seller 2 weeks ago. I recieved 2 emails from Judy. Both were perfectly wriiten too perfectly wriiten. Basic scam is that she is away from home to help her sick brother and that she already gave the bass to www.cooperative-yardsales.com to handle the transaction. Look up www.cooperative-yardsales.com and see for yourself. They do not even have a location near Fla.

It's just such a wonderfully tenacious effort. It's been in and out of craigslist bunches of times now in spite of Hubwolf's warning. Hub, have they got your serial number too? Don't answer that. With this cooperative yardsale business now involved it's an FBI matter. Interstate fraud or something. Fascinating!

Anyway I heard once that in polite company instead of saying Bulls**t you're supposed to say Fascinating....

Fascinating Craig's listing.
