New to the club but have owned an Essence with Europa electronics since 92. I have just placed an order for a Mark King Standard with AAAAA quilted maple top, LED's, bass and treble boost and cut and I find myself ready to explode with anticipation. The next 10 weeks are going to be very tough for me. Is there a support group for this type of thing? Alembic's annonomous or something? This is only the third day and I am already driving my friends crazy. Basically I just wanted to introduce myself to the rest of the group so that others might feel free to share their anticipation issues as well! Happy Bass Playing Rory |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news grasshopper, ten weeks is really more like 6-8 months and worth every blessed minute to end up with the best bass in the world! We here at the clinic will help the time pass quickly(LOL).These instruments are the top of the mountain, top of the line,no other company compares in sound quality or such a wide array of tone, quietness, looks or construction. They are well, well, well, worth the wait. This kind of quality cannot nor ever should be rushed. |

Hello Rory, I'm sure you'll find the support here that you need. Please post some pics of your Essence if you have any. Lots more folks will be coming out of hibernation soon, so stand by for the Welcome to "Paul land" comittee. Mike |

Hi Rory and welcome. Don't get too discouraged. It may not take 6-8 months. The bad news is that by the time the wait is almost over, the anticipation will be unbearable. The good news is that you are IN a support group for just that type of thing!! Some things that may help: Let Alembic (Mica or Valentino) know you'd like them to post progress pictures (assuming you are OK with that) in the Factory to Customer section of this site. Not only will you get to see your bass come together in phases (this alone is worth the price of admission), but other members will love you for it. Most (if not all) of us are Alembic junkies - that makes us suckers for every new creation. Believe it or not, you will get so many comments on posted pictures that you will not be waiting for your bass alone (that helps). What's better is that many of the folks watching with you have been through the drill themselves - some multiple times!! Revise your rig in some meaningful way. This will end up costing you (even more) money, but if you actually do improve something, it will put you in a better frame of mind for your new bass. At very least, it will distract you temporarily. Quit smoking or take it up. Hope your wait is bearable. Don't be a stranger. Bill |

Hey Guys I appreciate all of the support so quickly you can't imagine the agony of this purchase, or maybe you can! Pictures of my girlfriend or possibly ex-girlfriend have been replaced by pictures of what I hope my new Alembic will turn out to be. I can't imagine what the next few months will be like. Lucky for me I loss all my hair sometime ago so the fear of walking around newly bald is not an option! Soon as I can get some pics of my Essence out I will post them and Bill, I will take your advice as far as the progress pics are concerned. Again, I would like to thank all of you for your much needed support and guidance through this very difficult time! May the Bass be with you! Rory

Andrew I would like to thank you as well as all the others for the much needed support. As it stands right now I have requested several upgrades to my new baby and I am sure this will delay my delivery time even further as well as delay any trips to anywhere in the near future. I have been operating under the premise that if I spend just a little more, what difference will it make? They can only lock me up once and throw away the key! I am working on posting my Essence as we speak. Bottom's up Rory |
