Had it for over a week, if this is entry level, well that just leaves me speechless.... The tone is right up my alley. And the playability is sweet. Very happy!

So here is a photo or two, and it can still be viewed on ebay. Looks like I paid a bit under 'usual' looking at old posts on the club- but these are tough times for fairly pricey items I suppose.

I got the adjustment instructions for setting it up a bit better- I'm in a humid area, so there has already been a change in neck profile. Figure I'll let her get fully settled before I put new strings and adjust action. And I won't break her rod with more then 1/4 turn a day.

Anyway- more later, just wanted to drop a note.

Hi jason, nice bass.There is nothing "entry level" about any Alembic,they are all unique and individual.I'm also new to the club(I have a 90 Elan),but I have had the pleasure of playing 6 different Alembics (a Persuader, a couple of Epics,an Orion, my Elan and a Series 1).All were beautiful,and I would have been happy w/all of them.For me ,my Elan just "felt" right.Series electronics would be a wonderful upgrade, but I don't feel slighted in the least.You may consider adding a Q switch (plenty of info in the forum)but you won't regret this bass.Let th e obsession begin, and welcome.

Added new photos in the gallery section.

That Q switch does seem interesting, is this similar or different then the Blaster?

Mica says: Q switch is on when you flick it down while playing. When the Q switch is on, it boosts the cutoff frequency of the filter by about 8dB. You can hear the effect by sustaining a note while rotating the filter back and forth with the Q switch is on. You should hear a distinct "wah-wah."

Blaster Features include:

* Gain adjustable from 3-14dB
* Isolates capacitance of cable
* Frequency response of guitar not affected by volume

So as far as I can tell from various posts-

Both Q and Blaster give a boost, but you can 'play' with the size of the boost with the Blaster. They seem to have the Q on the bass and Blaster on the guitar set ups. I wounder if they are the same? One post implied that the Q only affected portions of the frequency range, that would be different then the Blaster it seems.
