Well, I've been visiting the Alembic web-site since 1999; dreaming, wishing, lurking, playing bass and most of all: convincing my wife (musically challenged) that owning an Alembic is one of those "must-do" things in life. This past week I had an opportunity to talk with Mica by phone about a prospective buy on eBay. I was thoroughly impressed with her professionalism, knowledge of product and her desire to teach me as much about the instrument in question as could be done in a phone call. I was and still am; truly impressed. I know she's doing a great job here on the web site and definitely doing justice to the brand. In one phone call, she has cemented my will and intent to own one of these wonderful works of art. So until I have an opportunity to register my newest bass with Alembic, I offer my sincere thanks to Mica for the best customer service experience I think I've EVER had with a music industry entity and more subtle thanks to the membership of this club for providing a wealth of knowledge and info about the products. I hope to be joining you here quite soon. Regards, Christopher Paul Highland Lakes, NJ USA

Hello Christopher, and another welcome, this time from The Netherlands! With so long a time of looking around you must have checked the Showcase section of this wonderful club a lot of times. It was (and still is) my favorite for browsing, dreaming and admiring. Beats visiting any art gallery! Have you developed a preference for a specific Alembic model yet? Regards, Wilfred |

Hello Christopher, it sounds like you've already joined us. Welcome aboard. When I got my Alembic I danced around the house singing "I have an Alembic Bass! I have an Alembic Bass". My wife quickly realized that it is a must do thing. Good luck with your search and remember when you find it you must share it with pictures! Sam |

Oh my....You wouldn't enjoy that visual at all. There's nothing that would clear a room faster (or a message forum) than my half-nakedness! Regardless, thanks for the warm welcome. To answer Wilfred; I'm actively shopping for an Essence 5. I took some instructions back in 2000 from a chap doing session work in NYC and had the chance to play his Essence 4 on a few occassions. At that moment, I had made up my mind. It also happens to work within my budget. Cheers all! |

Welcome from the upper registers. As Sam put it, it sounds like you've already arrived to me. I also lurked these threads for quite some time before taking the plunge. Glad to know you're here. I look forward to hearing more about your Alembic purchase as it transpires. |

Show my what??? You've seen pictures of my bass, my children, my car, and even my trash can. There's not much left to show. Christopher, that's why we call him The Bad One. When you hear the beer bottles clanging on the table there will be a Paul nearby. Sam (Message edited by bracheen on July 23, 2004) |

OK, That's done. Jim at Guitar Resurrection knows how to wheel and deal. My kinda guy. Gave me great deal on this lovely Lacewood honey. Not lots of features, but a nice slice of wood, Europa Electrics and a very aggressive price point. S/N 99K12262 Can't wait to welcome it to it's new home. More pics when it arrives. (no half-naked pics) -Chris |

Hello Chris and congratulations! That's very quick and effective work. I'm sure you'll love your new addition. Be prepared to have your home rocked by those Europa electronics. I'm envious, but I just bought a new home, so my GAS attack is tempered by other items (Do I need a new screen door? What about the plumbing in the crawl space?) Mike |

Hi Chris and welcome to the club. That's a nice instrument and you'll love the versatility of the Europa electronics. Thanks for the nice comments about Mica, as her Mom and her Boss-Mom. She is very dedicated and goes above and beyond in her efforts at Alembic and for the Club members. For myself, I'm a lucky person to have Mica, Ron and Alembic. BTW did she tell you her own personal Alembic is an Essence as well? -susan |

Hi Susan! Thanks for the great level of attention your customers get from Alembic. It's obvious by the enthusiasm and acolades passed here in the forums that your customers are well cared for. I'm proud to be able to say I own an Alembic and can't wait to plug my Essence in and make some groove. It's like being 7 years old on Christmas eve....I can't wait to tear into the presents! I've read about Mica's Essence..I think it's the Kingwood shown in the gallery with Vintage Cherry core? That's just cool. You can't get much more "Custom". I absolutely love nice woods and the craft of your business is one I admire greatly; you are all truly artisans. Thank you to you and the whole Alembic family for creating such a wonderful instrument. -Chris |
