Hi Andrew, welcome back. I'm glad you got your access problems straighted out. How's school going and the band?

Hey minty, nice to have you back.

No one else here writes quite the same way you do - total lack of punctuation, caps, even sentences (though ultimately, they do seem to be complete). At first I found this a bit unsettling, but after a while, it grew on me - and I've missed it. :-)

Hang in there, only one more year.

thanks bob never really pay attention to sentence structure when i am on the internet as i have to all the time when working at university so it is just nice for once to not have to worry about capitals and sentences and the like. (oh thats a full stop)

there is one really poor quality photo of jazzmine my epic on the website but you can just about see her. www.childrenofthemint.s5.uk

talk to you soon

Funny... I happen to be a programmer, and I've learned over the years that the more comments you write, the less code you need, and the better it is likely to be (now, and in the future).

I never use caps there, even when leaving notes - by name - to others working on the stuff. I do tend to be fairly particular about semi-colons, dashes, commas, and parens, for the sake of clarity - but can't ever decide whether a full stop is in order, at the end.

Sometimes you just have to get the thought down. That's what counts. And maybe that's why I have this somewhat curious affection for your writing style, even though it's not what I do here.

(can't seem to get to your photo right now)

Bob,
I wonder how many programmers we have in the club? And I agree that writing comments seems to cause a significant drop in the number of lines of code you write, however I'm a stickler for punctuation. Perhaps I do drop some full stops at the end because there's plenty of them in the code ...

I'm a bit of a stickler for grammar and punctuation in commenting code as well. I even proof every post & email I send out...no matter how large or small. I guess it's partly due to being a proofreader for an advertising agency for a number of years before getting into programming.

But yet, I do find that in these posts, as well as emails, I take the liberty of using "..." in place of commas, semi colons and periods in many cases. I just like the way it looks for some weird reason...and I figure I can get away with it. Wouldn't do it in a letter, of course.

Hey Mikey, I'm a proofreader-turned-programmer too. So how many ... - nah, there can't be any more weirdos just like us, right?

Hey Adriaan,

I can't imagine any more of us out there...could there be??!!!

Wow...look at that...both proofreaders-turned-programmers...both born in 1965...where does it end?

"where does it end?"

Yikes, can't you be a bit more positive-minded?

No negativity intended...

"where does it end" translated:
"what other similarities will we find?"

Mikey, in case you didn't notice: you went from "born" to "end" in under two seconds. I think I was entitled to a little irony there.

Now where did they put the irony key on them new-fangled keyboards?
