Hi Ya'll, I suppose I should have provided a little intro in one of my earlier posts. I am in Portland, OR. I consider myself an "amature' bassist, although I have been a pro musician for over 35 years, primarily a drummer. Always wanted to play bass and, due to a shoulder injury, switched to bass about 12+ years ago. I am self taught and have no theory background so I play basically by position. Mostly into Blues, Jazz, R&R and R&B. Been a Deadhead since 1968 (1st show at the Pasadena Civic in 3/68) and a great fan of Alembic since the days of "the Godfather" and No.'s 1 & 2. Fav bass players would have to be (in no particular order), Phil, Jack, Duck (RIP), Jaco and Stanley, can't forget Ray Brown and Leroy V either. Just traded my fretted Essence 4, which I had owned for about 10 years, for an Essence fretless 5. LOVE IT !! I have been looking on this web site for the place to register as the new owner of this bass but can't find one. Can somebody point me in the right direction. Thx, Videroo
