Hi Club Members,
I've registered at last, after receiving my third Alembic. The first was (and still is) a brown bass (Grand Master with the Maltese cross inlays), then its twin sister, the fretless "templar secrets" and finally a wonderful "Alexandria" themed 5-string series 2...
I play bass as a hobby, and certainly much worst than the vast majority of you, but I do count on catching up, as I recently moved from Switzerland to Uruguay and have plenty of time to practice... So yes, my Alembics had a one month cruise across the Atlantic, a moment of intense anguish until they found their new home...!
Anyway, I wanted to thank you already for the threads and discussions you post in this club, as they have often opened my eyes to new dimensions of the bass universe.
Looking forward to read, and this time chat some more...!
Greetings to all from Montevideo...

Pierre - welcome aboard from Milwaukee!
Ahhh the Templar Secrets bass - truly a work of art, even without being plugged in.
I can only imagine your anxiety as you awaited shipment of your babies to your new home.

Well, pics from Grand Master are in the custom archive (http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_grandmaster.html), as those of Templar (http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_templarsecrets.html), and for the 5-string, I'll do some pics tonight and post them up (with a blackberry cam... i'm afraid it's all i've got).
Like a certain Governor from a certain State would say: "I'll be back...!"

Wonderfull one-of-a-kind Alembic you have, "neighbour" (I'm from Brazil). Please send us more pics of it, specially a close up of inlays and this catchy 4 piece hole at the tail.

Again, sorry for the quality, but with a bbm, "no could do better...!" Good to have a Brazilian neighbour... I travel often to Sao Paulo and speak the language (although my written portuguese skill are catastrophic...!

The "catchy" sculpted Maltese cross (yes, i know, kind of a mild obsession with me). I could feel Susan and MIca trembling when they drilled that one... but they really nailed it beautifully (pic doesn't do it justice)

for a brief history, this was ordered at the end of 2008 if I'm not mistaken, and came in my hands mid-march 2012... so a long wait for an amazing work of art. I must say that collaborating with Susan and Mica was a dream, and the whole Alembic family really nailed it like I couldn't have imagined... Coco bolo top and back series II, with flame maple body... pretty heavy, but the sound is crazy... I love it... and still am in awe of the Alembic craft...!

I got to see this one up close and personal.Over the last few years I would visit the factory and see this bass. The pic's do not do this one justice. I was quite taken with the inlays. You are a very lucky man. Congratulations!

Thank YOU! :-D

Great gods that really is beautiful! From the front it looks like the top grain drapes over the cutout.

Thanks to all for your kind words...! Next one to come in is a 6-string (African Theme, just for you Afrobeat...!And you are right, the pics are incredibly bad... I don't have the photographic skills of pierreyves nor the camera for that matter), Delivery of the 6, certainly not before next year, and there could be a new kind of body inlay style... We'll all have to wait and see...!
