I recently walked into my local music store...and knowing I always wanted an Alembic, the owner said he had something to show me. A Custom 5-string Rogue Alembic. The brass was a little tarnished, but the Coco Bola top is beautiful. It was made in 1998. It is my first Alembic and my first 5-string as well. I've been playing "classic rock" for...well...since it was new (about 30 years ago) and this bass is perfect for me. Just wanted to share my good fortune with other bassists.

Yep Wayne,
glad to have you here ...and ...huh ...first Alembic or not: climb in a camera and PICTURES-PICTURES please in the showcase dep. Don't be shy ...out yourself in this new healthy addiction ....mmmmm - not so healthy for your wallet I guess.

Paul the bad one

BTW: it's not necessary to invest in a digital cam you know. Just hop out the good'ol clickon camera and ask the store to put the pictures on CD. Afterwards it's a breeze to load them here.

I also posted this pic to the showcase. I have to say...it's quite an addiction having an Alembic. I have 2 G&L "top of the line" basses that are getting no atention since I bought this beauty. 98 Custom Rogue

Hmm, it looks like a Rogue, but it doesn't have Rogue electronics. Part of the custom aspect, I guess. It looks like you might have the Epic/Orion electronics on there. That would be a volume, a pan, a bass control and a treble control, is that right? Alembics are a breed apart from everything else, and it's hard to go back once you've been there.

Hey everyone:

I just left a post on Wayne's showcase thread for this bass. Now I come here and see that I spoke (wrote? typed? e-spoke?) too soon.

So what's that on the back? Mohogany or Vermillion maybe?

To answer your questions...the Rogue has Epic electronics, and the back is Mohogany...and that came direct from the fine folks at Alembic. I contacted them prior to buying this bass. I have since registered this bass with Alembic and am looking forward to playing this bass in my "weekend warrior" classic rock band.

Thanks for all the great comments. I think it's an incredibly cool looking bass...and even more important the best sounding bass I've ever played. (My G&L ASAT doesn't even come out of the case anymore.)
