Good day to all! The names Ryan and i am in the process of purchasing a 4 string Epic. I have been playing bass for about 4 years and am currently applying to College for music(jazz theory to be exact). Being a youngster(19) i feel privilaged to own such an incredible instrument with such beautiful tone. I was fairly happy with my current setup Godin BG-4,Ibanez SGR 6 String through Peavey Firebass head and 4x10 Cab, but when i picked up the used Epic in the guitar store i fell in love. I didnt realize a bass could play like that, and now i am just ITCHING to have it in my hands! I hope to learn alot from you vets and the seemingly endless wealth of information here. Rock on... Welcome aboard, Ryan. You're absolutely right about the Epic being a fantastic model. I've got two four-string Epics (walnut fretted and maple fretless) and use them both heavily. Others will be by shortly to say howdy as well. When your Epic is in hand, please post some pictures in the Showcase section. We all love to see the almost endless variety these fine instruments take. Mike |

No, really! Welcome aboard, Ryan. This is what happens when the server reports an error in posting and you rehit the "post" button. Mike (Message edited by dadabass2001 on February 22, 2005) |

Still here? Well, the button problem bit me three times. I'm just gonna go back to lurking. Dave, you can delete these last two if you get the chance. You'll still love the Epic, Ryan. Mike (Message edited by dadabass2001 on February 22, 2005) |

Hi Ryan, Welcome to the club, an Alembic Epic........great choice for your 3 rd bass, If I only knew about Alembics 24 years ago when I started playing.......... I wouldn't have bought some of the other basses I used to have/play. Good Luck with your new Alembic, soon you'll want to get rid of that Godin and Ibanez and get 2 more Alembics......its contagious.......LOL best wishes, Bruce |
