I've been reading this forum almost daily for 2 years now and finally decided to introduce myself properly. My name is Oleg, I'm 31 and I live in Moscow, Russia. About 2 years ago I purchased my first Alembic – a 5-string Elan made in '92. A couple weeks ago my newest acquisition arrived – 1977 Series I short scale – quite beat up but fully functional with surprisingly big tone and long sustain. I'm planning to post pics in Showcase section sometime soon. Also, since I just started exploring my Series I bass there are some things I'd like to know. I'll ask my questions in appropriate sections. In two years of reading this board I've got an impression that this Club is one of the most friendly places in the Internet. Everyone here knows this. It's a pleasure to be joining such a great company! |

Greetings from the desert! Although all Alembics sound great, nothing compares to Series tone. |

Greetings from Minnesota U.S.A., Oleg. I've been to your country including Moscow 6 times in the last few years. Regardless of the political differences between our countries at upper levels I have always found everyone I've met in your country warm, friendly and engaging whether I've been in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, or Ungud (where I spent an evening playing and singing Bob Dylan tunes with a group of locals who did not speak English but had learned a large number of his songs phonetically. And of course, we drank a lot of great Vodka). |
