Hello to each and every,
Greetings from a cold and crisp Manchester,England.Whenever I'm blue with cold I like to stop by 'The Club' and become green with envy!.Seriously, you guys have some stunning basses.Among my favourites are the gorgeous series 1 in Zebrano which (I think) was once the property of a gentleman called Seamus. The pics were taken on a front doorstep which also featured a particularly English looking milk bottle.Hmmm, where is that bass now?,I wonder.I'd like to thank Malthumb not only for sharing the pics of his basses,(that series 2 Mark King DLX 5 is to die for!) but also for hipping me to "Strawberry Letter 23".Thank You,Sir.
I shall attempt to upload a picture of my dearly missed 20th Anniversary bass,AM106,regrettably sold during a period of either severe financial mis-fortune or gross stupidity.Possibly both.Definately the latter.Another Alembic SHALL be found in the future,Anniversary or Series.Meantime I hope you'll forgive the odd dumb question about some of your wonderful basses.Best Wishes to you all.Simon.

Simon, welcome to the club. Best of luck to you in finding an Alembic you want. If dumb questions weren't forgiven I would have been out of here long ago, so I think you're safe.

Hi Guys and thanks for your welcome.I had to forego Bassday in M/cr Jacko.Did you make it?.I've just joined a new band and our first gig is on Saturday. As I'm not the only new band member the rehearsals have been intense and numerous, and owing to various band member's schedules etc,it became a Bassday/Rehearsal impasse and I had to wear the Pro hat that day.On the plus side,I'm finally in a band that plays 'Car Wash',I love that bassline.I was really looking forward to seeing Trip Walmsley, with or without his monster 8 String.I've not heard a whole lot of his stuff but the first time I did it was a case of "Goodnight Irene".What a talent!.Incidentally Jacko, where in Edinburgh are you?.My late father,God bless him, spent a large part of his childhood in Leith.
Thanks Rich and Dave for your words of welcome.Financing another Alembic will be a "From the ground up" project.Selling a couple of basses would hasten things along but I know too well the regret of selling a beloved bass,so it may take some time but I'll get there and when I do,You'll all be the first to know (If it's possible for you all to be first....D'oh!... You know wot I mean :o) )
Best wishes,Simon.

Hello from another new member in the Manchester area. Not only that but we've got practically the same name - spooky!

I just got my first Alembic after years of wondering what I should get. I'd never played one before I got it, but I think I made the right choice :-)

Hi Simon and welcome from one 'newbie' to another.
In the words of Charles Dickens,"What odds,Mrs Dilber!".Definately spooky, when I read your post it was in the voice of Rod Serling with the theme from 'The Twilight Zone' playing in the distance!.I live in Leigh but My Anniversary Bass and I used to play quite often at the Knutsford Wine Bar on King St,and about a month ago I had a highly enjoyable coupla pints in the 'Rose and Crown'(King St also??).As my Dad used to say "It's a small world......but I wouldn't want to paint it!".
Anyway Felicitationes and Mazel Tov on your new Essence Bass.I'd echo the sentiments of Graeme (not Jacko as I called him in my previous post....Sorry Graeme),and as an Alembic owner you're in highly esteemed and rarefied company.A wise investment,no contest.Any chance of you posting some gratuitous Bass-Porn of your new find?.
Best Wishes,Simon.

Simon-Hard to tell from the pic but the facing of your bass has that lovely red-ish tint that suggests Coco Bolo but I could be wrong.Whatever it is it looks fantastic, and well cared for.Nice one!.
