Hi guys, I've lurked on here a few times but finally signed up today. As a Deadhead my basses are somewhat predictable, 2 Series I 4 string Alembics ( one pointed long scale and one small bodied medium scale), a Modulus 6-string TBX w/barts, a 5-string TBX w/EMG's and a 5-string bolt-on w/EMG's, a '71 Guild Starfire project bass and a Doug Irwin fretless w/ Hi-A's. I acquired my first Alembic, a Distillate, about 17 years ago and have enjoyed playing them since.

I'll try to get them all to hold still for a group shot. The Starfire is not Alembicized unfortunately and is a project in that there is what appears to be a sloppy but stable neck repair at the peghead (would love to laminate a nice crown point peghead on it) and I may swap out the pickups for Dark Stars or Alembic electronics at some point.

Good you jumped in, hubwolf.

The hi-A's you mention, weren't those the original passive EMGs when they were called 'Overlend'?

Here is a pic. Sorry to take so long getting back. L to R: Doug Irwin fretless, '81 Series I SB med scale, Early Modulus Q5 TBX, '79 Series I std pt long scale, very early Modulus Q6 TBX. Other Alembic products include the 3 1x15 cabs seen (topped by a 2x12) and an F1X preamp. The sub on the right is a Meyer USW-1 and works very well with the Alembic cabs.-hubhubs tone lab

Hey John, What year was your Distillate? any old pictures of it? Beautiful collection by the way, some serious thumping going on at your place!
