hello from danville va, my name is nate and though i have never owned an alembic im hoping to change that sometime in the future. i currently own a '96 carl thompson and several pawn shop prizes but have heard a lot of good things about alembics. a friend of mine has an '85 exploiter that i thought he was going to sell me but backed out at the last minute: ( but that being said i got to play one and that was enough to set the hook in. i will also say the alembic community semms to be a little bit more friendly than some of the others that i will leave nameless and appreciate all of the info you guys offer i will probably be making a few bids on ebay for a good starter as i have never seen an alembic in a store around my town.

Hello Nate,
I got two of my three Alembics off Ebay, the third was a local purchase. Several members in the club keep a ready eye on Ebay as well. Check out the "Swap Shop" thread.
Have fun!

Hi Nate. I'm just a few hours away from you. If you find yourself headed towards Richmond, let me know. My email is Marc@SonaKinesis.com
Unfortunately none of the stores in Richmond seem to stock Alembics, but a salesman at the Guitar Center here thought that their store in Norfolk/VA Beach would. The store my Epic 6-string found me at, Metro Sound, stopped carrying Alembics many moons ago.
You will be very happy indeed with an Alembic Bass! Best wishes to you in your quest for one.
