Just joined the club. I own a further guitar and it is magnificent,i almost sold it to help fund going back and finishing college, but I just couldn't do it.My line of thinking was that i could always buy another, but i said to hell with that i'll keep it and figure out another way to help pay for college.I even put it up on ebay for a few days and then cancelled the auction out of sheer remorse(prodigalson). Now i know most of you are bassists and i salute you all!I play a little bass too. i don't own an olympic bass yet.But i'm lucky enough to be playing 2 songs on bass with none other than Joe Craven(on mando.) I joined the mission percussion ensemble and we open for joe on apr 26. He will be jammin with us on 2 tunes.Joe and I will be the only ones playing something other than perc. I got elected to play bass with him by the instructor.I had no idea i'd ever play with the likes of joe. I may start shakin' and not be able to play!!! |

It's a beautiful guitar, and I'm glad you're not selling it. But... uhm... you... probably... uh... that is... well, as an ALEMBIC owner, (I RESPECTFULLY submit) you should avoid referring to them as "Olympics"... |

Welcome Mattew - It's great to have another guitarist on board. I'm glad to hear how much you love your Further. I am currently waiting for one to be built. Amazing to play with Joe Craven - I've long admired his work, especially with the David Grisman Quintet - enjoy! Tom |

Super Glad to be on board Tom!! I saw Joe at the warfield with Grisman/Garcia twice around 92-93.You could imagine when i found out it would be just joe and i on the strings on Samba(mas que nada) and Meu Deus(by Cassia Eller). I don't think that my facial expression changed cuz i was trying to remain cool...!!! But inside i was downright giddy. This will always be a highlight!! I'm sure you'll post a pic. of your further when you get it, i would love to see it...That skylark is a beauty!!thanks for the reply. |
