I just got a 96 lefty Epic 5. My first Alembic after playing 30 years on/off. Also playing a '78 P & a '79 Rick. |

Hi Vince, welcome. There are several lefty's here and a few of the gang at the Alembic factory are lefty too. I also have a couple of Ricks & Fenders in my stable. |

Hi Vince and welcome to the club. Your Epic is a superb choice - I've had a righty '96 5 string from new. Let's see some pictures in the showcase section when you find the time to put the bass down;-) Graeme |

Hi Vince! Welcome to the club Just to say, I think you made a great choice!! I've heard jacko's Epic live and it is truly---EPIC! If I didn't have a Series bass then I think I would play an Epic-Jacko's was truly awesome-the sort of sound that you dream about. To me, it seemed to have more B&^lls than his Rogue (don't fall out with me Graeme). Just truly an amazing bass!! Congrats George |

No problems George - with the epic being set-neck it has more mid range punch than neck through models - don't forget that the rogue is fretless aswell so it is much smoother anyway. One interesting point, when you saw me play, I had a problem with the Eden preamp so it wasn't putting much into the power amp. I hadn't realised that at the time. Some of the output transistors had been fried as a result of a phantom power spike through the DI ! With it fixed, it's a whole different world. Talk about loud and punchy - even the rogue would make your hair stand on end now ;-) (you need to see georges photo to laugh at that last one) Graeme |

Enough of your cheek boy!! If that was your system at the time , with a "so called problem" then it just about made my hair grow back in! The biggest sound I'd heard in years from-----4x10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not a lover of the shape and looks of the Epic, but -------WOW you sold me on that one Graeme! Howz this new EBS system doing??????????? Sorry for the Rogue thing------it TOO was superb it was just the power of the Epic that took my face off!!-Maybe you just play way too loud-a bit like me!! The EBS cabs are superb. The 2x12 rounds off the bottom end beautifully while the 4x10 still gives all the drive you could ever need. I'm trying to get our booking guy to get us back on at behind the wall - I'll let you know if it happens. You'll need to let me know when you're playing - I'll bring mike along. Graeme p.s. Sorry for the thread hijack vinnie ;-) |

Eden Navigator preamp and QSC PLX2402 power amp (running parallel at 700w/channel). Plenty loud enough for me although the power amp goes up to 2400w running bridged mono into 2 ohms!!!!! The Nav comes with a turbo boost footswitch that adds 10db and scares the sh*t out of the guitarists ;-) Graeme |

Get George to take you for a night out in Falkirk Sam. You're almost guaranteed a good gob-smacking if you end up in the wrong pub;-) Graeme |

Stirling is just as bad! If you look at my ugly mush, then you'll see it's been gob smacked more times than i care to remember. Sam-don't listen to that graeme-he's so bad. Just cause he lives out Edinburgh way he thinks we are all commoners out here-Damn, he's right!! G |
