Alembics are as rare as hens teeth in Australia. I finally after 30 years of playing got myself one. It's a 1993 Epic 5 string, I have had it 2 hours and already I am about to pack away the P Bass. Very impressed, can't wait to gig with it. It feels like a long lost friend even now. Why did I wait so long? Roger

Congrats Roger!

Where are you at in Australia? I'm just across the Tasman (You know, where REAL rugby is played!!) ;)

Did you pick it up from Greensquare Music?

Real Rugby, yeah right!
I'm about an hour north of Brisbane, I picked it up on eBay in the USA. What sort of Alembic do you have?

Roger,

I don't have one *yet*...

Although there is a deal in progress that should be sending a 5 string Rogue across the Pacific in the next week or so.

Brisbane is nice- I'm actually an American living here in NZ. I've got nothing at stake in the NZ/Aussie rivalry, but I sure like to stir the pot!

Make sure you post pictures of that Epic in the Showcase section~

Roger - Green Square Music (www.greensquare.net) always has a good selection of hen's teeth (including some pre-loved, with warranty and guaranteed trade in). When you are ready to order your custom Alembic, we'd love to help you out.

Hi Roger, welcome to the board and congrats on the Epic!

There's a discussion of the S1 here; but I see that you have found it already.

Thanks Dave. I think I've been bitten by the Alembic bug. I want more. Have just listed one of my Fenders (18 last count) on eBay and many more to come so I can afford these great instruments. David from www.greensquare.net in Australia has a nice Mark King Deluxe with lotsa extras. I have spoken with him and am a gnats whisker away from saying YES I WANT IT!!! I want the S1 as well though. Woe is me.

That Rogue is gorgeous, you mentioned your Rogue will arrive soon, what will it look like, I bet you can't wait. Another topic, my girlfriend Lynn is in San Francisco for the next 3 weeks and has put her name down to do next weeks Alembic Factory tour, I'm so jealous. It's like a "Grand Ma went to Paris and all I got was a lousy t shirt" story. Oh well, atleast I'll get a t shirt out of it.

Alembics are also rare in the Volunteer State (although I have been seeing and hearing about more around these parts in the past year or so.)
