Hi, folks. As with others here, I'm new to the Alembic Club. I've been dreaming of a high end bass for a long time and have finally taken the plunge. Entwistle has been a fave of mine forever so I settled on a Spyder 4. Due to a miscommunication on my part, the one coming off the line at the time I was ordering didn't match what I was looking for. I wanted a V head and the one that was almost finished was a cone. So Susan tells me they have another one in production a couple months back. I grabbed it! Am having a couple things done to personalize it to my taste but I'm giddy that I'll soon have my very own JE Spyder. Can you feel the glow? I'm basking in it already and I don't even have the bass yet!

How are you doing Bradford? That's pretty exciting not only your first Alembic but customized to boot. You'll need to update your profile photo with one of you smiling in a couple of months.

Yeah it's a great feeling when you know it's yours and when you first gig with it you feel on a higher high.

The rarity value in the UK makes it even more special.
Enjoy it and be prepared to spend money on upgrading your signal chain.

Jazzyvee + one battered bank account lol.

Hey, thanks everyone. Yeah, Jazz, I know what you're talking about. I don't even have the bass in hand and I'm already planning my new rig. Thanks to the resources and advice on this site, I think I can figure out how to spend enough to keep my kids in debt for their forseeable future. However, my wife is now requesting we pass a household balanced budget ammendment. Glad I snuck the bass in before that passed.

Elevated level of excitement to report. Mica has posted some pictures of the build in progress. Here's the thread: http://alembic.com/club/messages/631/32210.html?1160103553
