Just arrived a little while ago. 83S2765 Flame Maple Top Spoiler from 1983. I'm proud to say that I'm the second owner. We have some dings and checking but I like it. Only concerns at this point; buckle rash to the wood on back(needs sealing); PU selector intermitent at both PU's on mode( I've tried rocking standby to neck position- didn't help); looks like at one time the PU's may have been raised because they're deep scuff marks on each PU bridge side edge. This bass was played!! But not abused. I can officially say I own an Alembic. It's a start. I even have the build sheets! Amazing!! Any suggestions on how to take care of the above isues? Is it possible to add Quick tone switches here or are the electronics so different I should be looking at a Distillate or Europa? Thanks Normand |

Welcome to the club Normand. You'll get alot of differing opinions on here but mine would be to leave the bass as is, proudly displaying her battle scars. graeme |

thank you graeme. I feel the battle scars are fine, I just have some concerns about the exposed wood in areas were the finish has been completely worn off. I put in an inquirery to service and got the low down for the finishing options and switch replacement. The were very helpful. Thanks again...NLP |
