Hey folks! Got my first Alembic back in '99, an awesome Essence and just aquired the bass that I had pictured in my mind's eye. A georgeous Europa 4 from member Pat Moran. Saw it pop up on EBay & couldn't resist. WOW! It's true love all over again. All my others, unfortunately, will start to collect a little dust. Owning one was a dream come true & now I have two! WOW (again) Can't think of anything else to say for now, but a couple weeks & a few gigs from now I hope to be able to have a few more things to say. Family Photo

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the club.
That's a really nice family of guitars you have.
Maybe that dust pile can be turned into killer Alembic number 3!
Enjoy!

Welcome Jeff.
Hope to see you at our next gathering.
I see you live just 40 miles or so south of me.
North Carolinia seems to have a lot of alembic owners.
Nice family and welcome to the club.

Congrats, a Europa is a serious hardcore instrument... beautiful and versatile, it's a great performer!

There are a lot of nice basses out there in the world... my experience is that the Europa can hold it's own against the best of 'em.

The only way to move up from a Europa is to get an even more awesome Alembic!

Try not to let those other pretty axes get TOO dusty, now!

Thanks for the comments, folks. I'll keep my eyes & ears open for the next NC gathering.

Hmmmmm ... dustpile into #3? Great idea, Kris! I think the wife would kill me, however. She loves the Ric & the Jazz. Even though she's always supported my habit (she bought me the Essence) I think one more might push her over the edge. Maybe I'll leave the gang as is for while.

Regards,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, welcome to the group! That looks like a very nice top on the Essence; and of course the Europa is very nice as well!

Thanks Dave. I remember it being the AAA Quilted Maple ... misplaced the birth certificate last move.

Keep working on that first one, Art. It's well worth the effort. Several nice diamonds for the wife got me the first one. (She still thinks she got the better deal!!)
