Hi, I just joined the club not too long ago. This is my first post and I wanted to say hello.
I own two Alembic Basses now. My first one is a MK Standard with some upgrades and my second is a 1977 Series 1 I purchased off of Ebay back in November. The Series 1 is in the process of being refretted, so I am impatiently waiting for it so that I can play it again. I will talk to you all later.
Thanks,
Dale

Hi Dale,
Nice to hear from you and a warm welcome to the club! Please post pictures as many here would probably like to see. The club is an awesome place for information and a great group of people as I have found over the last several months. Enjoy those basses!

I am still waiting for my Series 1 to be refretted, so hopefully I will be getting it back soon. I am going through Alembic Series 1 withdrawl. This is worse than quitting smoking for me. Ha ha ha. But once I get it back, I will be taking some pictures and posting them. I just hope I get it back soon.

Dale:

Congrats on your Alembics and welcome to the club. hhmmmmm ... waiting for a luthier ... why does that sound vaguely familiar?

Q: How many luthiers does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: Just one, but you have to wait six months.

I like that one. It is very true. I have to tell my Luthier that one. He will enjoy it. He has a good sense of humor.

Dale,
And just like quitting smoking, everything will be MUCH better when it's over =)!! Enjoy the Series, but, hey, at least you have an MK to play! That ain't swiss cheese! Welcome to the gang.
Have fun, Mike, tho =]

No, it is just the washer and dryer. I wonder if Geddy washes his clothes on stage when he is on tour.

When I saw Rush, they pulled a bunch of tour T shirts out of Geddy's 'backline' to throw into the audience.

Beautiful basses BTW;-)

With a backline like that, I'll bet you can get a really clean tone! hehehehe

That's an unusual looking fretboard.

I have been trying to figure out what the fretboard is made of. I listed the bass on the serial number search and posted some other closeup shots in the Series 1 section of the galleries. I am thinking it may be Purple Heart or Vermillion or something. Any help would be great.

I just posted to the showcase thread. My guess is Purpleheart.
