As far as the Essence goes I'm a complete convert. The way I thought a bass should play and sound was right there all along. Sold my Zon Sonus fretless 4, Stingray Sub and my Tobias Killer B5 and now have a Orion 4 OceanBurst w/5A quilt and leds thanks to the Jan special on the way. I too have a custom in the planning stages- hopefully a June/July start date will be realized for mine. I dig the Orion body style and really like colored finishes- the Oceanburst ALWAYS just pops on that quilt maple. As far as electronics in the Orion right now just the standard package. But will probably add the filter and Q switch for the EMW. That filter blows me away with the various tones it offers. Also getting a FatBoy in the bridge.
