Howdy to all! I own one of the first Modulus/Alembic BlackKnife guitars. I think its #8. A total Strat clone. Mahogany body w/orange wood striped through the center. EMG pickups. I also own a custom Modulus 12 guitar that I had the body copied from Greg Lakes 8-string Works tour Bass. The guitar has angled fiddle back maple body and would be a series II style w/lots of laminates. BlackKnife is 30 years old and 12 is 24 years. Both mint. I wanted an Alembic 12 but plain old couldn't afford it at the time. The Alembics were probalbly about 4-5K at the time and the Modulus about 1/2 that. Would I still want an Alembic 12 sting? Big yes. Awesome and beautiful! But it's like the 59 Les Paul Gold Top I passed on buying in 1974 for $500 in Salt Lake City. Those prices have sailed away. I still remember playing one at the NAMM booth in the early 80's. Super sweet and oh so beautiful. Lately I've been thinking about selling both Modulus guitars and buying something different. Life proceeds quickly. Keith |

Either Vonnegut, or Kurt though the Dead who named their publishing company "icenine." Welcome to the club Keith. If you hang around you'll soon learn that we love pictures of instruments, Alembic or not. I'm sure lots of us would love to see some pics of your Modulus guitars. Bill, tgo |
