Had to divide my free time a bit more and the Club unfortunately disappeared in the rear view mirror for a while. I got seriously bitten by the fly fishing "bug" and roamed around a few forums around that particular subject. Some things have surely changed, I was very sad to learn about the passing away of Nicola and Paul TBO. On a positive note I'm happy to see that there is still a community feeling around here and also Flip's FTC thread with his dream Elan finally coming to life. BTW I still own and play my little blond Series I shortscale, nothing changed there! Anyway, glad to be back! Wilfred |

Hi George, it's still connected, but hidden inside the semi-hollow core of the bass. Apparently a modification made to have it out of the way when slappin' and poppin'. I keep it in the "both pickups" position, so the volume controls can be used to select/blend neck, bridge or both. Wilfred |

Hey Wilfred, good to have you back here! I feel kinda bad not mailing you about Paul TBO, I noticed you weren't around online but assumed you were still reading here and there... Very sad and shocking news... :-( Also Nicola leaving us much too early is shocking, must be devastating for his Wife and family :-( 33, some much more to learn and do in life, we should know (Wilfred and I are 33, vintage '76) This is a grim reminder of the fact that it can be over at anytime and you should enjoy every moment you have here. Tension is high around here, according to the latest info the Elan should be finished around October. We'll see... I'm sure it will be worth the wait and the totally drained bank account :-) The other Alembics keep the tension at a somewhat acceptable level :-) When the Elan has hit these shores, we should really get a European meeting going. I'd love to hold Blondie again, she's stunning! |
