Greetings. I'm Thomas. I've been lurking about this sight for a couple few years and finally decided to reg. I was given two ears and one mouth so my take on that is listening is twice as important as speaking. I really like the vibe here. Music has been something like a spiritual core for about as long as I can remember. I have never owned an Alemic, but I think I will make that correction very soon. So that's about it for now. If you are reading this I hope you are having a great day, and if you're not, you can start your day over. Really, it works! Try it!

Hello Thomas and welcome to the club.
I hope you find many enjoyable topics and friends here, and in life.
What do you play?

Mike
p.s. Is your title for this thread based upon Sir Bedevere's mis-pronunciatition of the name of those shubbery loving knights?
:-)

NeeT! Bass. I've got a few Carvins: mid 80's LB50(solid Koa)89 LB75(Koa wings)LB70(Claro Walnut)BB75, 65 Fender fretless basket case, Some kind of Tobias Franken-bass I turned into a fretless,Ibanez BTB,Stienberger by Cort,ESP LTD Viper 254,and my 1st bass I got when I was 15, MIJ jazz copy. Man, I need to consolidate.
I've moved to the 5 string about 4-5 months ago. I picked up this Dave Weckl CD minus the bass track. It came with the basic charts and book with a talk down of each song. It's such a cool thing to be jamming with these cats! I screw up and thet just keep playing and I actually think I getting a little better :-)
I didn't touch my bass for about 10-11 years, devoted to being a Dad, y'know. He's 16 now and doing his thing, so I've been back to doing what I love for about two years now.

You can edit it the same day you post, just click on the little notepad icon in the upper right of that post. Your story parallels mine, although I put my bass down for 18 years. (two kids and a heart attack). Life is still good!

Thanks for the info Mike. Think I'll just leave it: Sometimes the mis-steaks turn out to be the best part.

Thomas,
Welcome to the forum and what I believe to be a great online community. Music is feeding my soul and spirit once again too. Wait until you place that Alembic in your arms, it's exhilarating!
Best, Art

Thanks all for the welcome in. Yeah, its Dave Weckl Band "Rhythm of the Soul" CD. You can get it Minus whatever instument you play and charts/talk down from each member. I got it through his offical web site. I've really enjoyed the crap out of it and think the idea brilliant.I get to play with some of the top guys in the world! And although I love Tom Kennedy's bass, it's nice not having him in the mix and over-influencing my own style.I hope more groups start doing this.

What??? You missed a key stroke???? Don't worry about it. We here in the Alemic Club don't sweat little stuff like that. Now if you had typed Olympic you might have heard about it :-) Welcome aboard Thomaas, nice to meet you.

Thomas welcome!
Buy an Alembic and you'll have your "holy grail", although you seem to have some cool basses...with an Alembic, you'll have all you need...(mind you, if I came across a '60's Yamaha with the 'samuai sword' headstock I'd be so happy, just 'cause I have 2 of the guitars and the bass would be cool...)

Thanks Tony
I was this close to jumping in with the Rogue 5 Loch has (had) F/S. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for at the moment. Sounds like he's got a buyer and pretty much a done deal. It's funny though: I though I would be a little sad, but in truth, I've got a feeling something wonderful is on the horizon. Not exactly sure what it all means, but that's my story, and I'm stickin to it!
Thomas
