Hello, My name is Ron and go by the stage name Bass4worship. I'm been playing bass on and off since 1965 and still love it. I play in church for the last 19 years and play for two Gospel group the Elders Statesmen & Spiritual Hearst Of New York which you can find on You-Tube under rskin95. I learn to play my ear and can read some tab. I been playing and seaching for many years for that tone that was aways in the back of my head, had many many basses and still was missing something. I then I saw some Alembic on E-bay and from what I seen they seem to be well build so I can here and check out what you guys was saying about these basses. I was looking on TB and found this Excel for a trade and a few bucks. So I went for it. Went the bass arrived I was in shock, I knew this had to be the one. I went to work on it right away, first taking the strings off and cleaning her up. Then put new flats on and and a setup. Play her a little that day and put it back in it case. I wanted to really see what she could do went I'm out in a large place like my church. Sunday came and I'm like a kid with a new toy, couldn't wait to get there. Plug her in and tuned up. Hit that first note on our very first song and I was in heaven all day. This is what I been looking for, sweet lows and that mid and high's that cut thur the mix. The neck and balance is perfect. So my hats off to all Alembic player and to those who made this a wonderful bass. I selling off all of my others basses but one. Thanks Ron. I remember when first met mine. Played it unplugged and was already grabbed even before turning the Amp on. Not just by its look, but overall feel seemed awesome. I knew it only could sound great and it didn't disapointed me with power on. After our first time in my regular Gig, everyone came telling me how great I was that night and the guitarist asked me if I played something different. No,I didn't, they simply heard me clearer as never heard me before! It always sits well in any Mix, our sound guy is more in love with it than myself! Alembic doesn't make just Instruments, they make art pieces. I never get tired seeing new Alembics, each one is always unique and special by its own (as this matching wood caps on yours). These basses are truly a work of art, they are not your every day basses you see. I'm happy to find a bass company that willing to put the extra work in to see that every part of their products is right. Belive me went I say I'm all smiles. | ||

Hello Ron - great to hear that you have seen the other light as well (the Alembic one). You really need to try a series 1 or 2. Other alembics are great but the series basses are truely mind blowing. Mine has basically made my bass collection redundant and I am now considering selling the lot of them to pay for a new build custom. Cheers mate. Garth | ||

Hello, Ron! Welcome in the Alembic Owners family! When I had in hands my Mark King 5 str signature, I was just on another planet, having this feeling that I had found my "holy graal"... Such a sweet moment! And every time I play with "Ambre" (this is her name), I am so happy, man!!! Such a reliability : I play long gigs ( 3-4 hours non stop), and the sound is just as the first minut I played it! Have a great time with your instrument, friend! All the bass't Xtof | ||

Welcome Ron. I can't say enough about the addictive qualities of Alembic basses. I love them more and more as I age. It's funny how you might like a sound at one age/stage in your life, then all of a sudden, you desire something all together different. There were even sounds, I was not mature enough to find useful, but over time, "I now see the light" and this is why I say, Alembics get better over time. It's like having a box of 64 colors of crayola crayons, instead of a box of 8... Eventually, if you color long enough, you'll learn to use, and love all the other beautiful crayon colors in the box.
