An Alembic was only a dream in the '70's (in high school). When I saw an ad for an affordable stock model in the early '80's I drove 4 hours from Buffalo to the closest music store that I found out from Alembic had a Spoiler, Cleveland. In '86 I was fortunate to pick up a two year old Distillate. I've been playing it ever since. I've been longing to add a second Alembic, mostly seeing Spoilers. Any suggestions... Persuader? | ||

Hi James; welcome to the board! My suggest would be to take your time and read a lot of the threads on the board; also watch Ebay regularly just to get an idea of the current trading ranges for the different models. There is a lot of good information on the board; lot of folks here are very knowledgeable, and the FAQ and Must Reads sections have info on electronics packages and other useful information. | ||

Welcome James. My advice is to take your time and try to buy a series I or II. They are expensive but worthed every penny.They have a lot of knobs but it is not very difficult to get a great sound out of a series II no matter what some people say. The electronics are so subtle that they don`t need that much tweaking. Good luck in your search. | ||
