Here are pics of two new additions to my family. I've been playing bass about 45 years but new to this site. The first is an '84 Koa Spoiler 4 string. I picked this up late last month and was blown away enough to pick up another to replace my 5 string. The second is a '95 Zebrawood Epic 5 string. Both are great basses yet very different. |

Art, you're right they are DR Black Beauties. When I got the piece I started the process of cleaning & oiling the fret board. I installed these as an interim step willing to sacrifice them if some residual oil got onto them. These had come off another bass from a scheduled replacement. Since this pic the bridge, nut and end piece have been removed, cleaned and polished. I often give the fret board several goings over before it gets to where I want it. Right now the piece sports a set of TI Jazz flatwounds. |
