Amazing basses all! Never saw such a beautiful color as on your large body series I. Do you know what type of wood the front is made of? Also curious to know the year/serial number - absolutely stunning. I have two small bodies from 74 and 75 and a koa large body series I from 82 that is at Alembic getting restoration work. Thanks and welcome, Todd |

Hey Todd ,love those early SC I SC ,s.My longscale is a 76 ,the unique thing about it is the wood types ,a maple core with a Amaranth top. The same wood used in the standard neck laminations . The back is the same as well, it makes for a very hard sounding bass, tons of high end . The two alembics were my main basses for over 15 yrs until I got the Smith. It is generally more suitable for R&B and the Jazz 5 is my most used basses. For a 5 string Alembic Series II with a Mahogany core would be the ultimate. |

Amazing - the Amaranth is my favorite color wood by far - very, very pretty. How heavy is it? |

I love the small standard. Everything is just where it should be. If you ever come to a point where you must part with it keep me in mind. Keith |

Hey Todd the long scale is 14 lbs,Most of my instruments are towards the heavy side.@ six ft and 210 and working as a contractor,it rarely ,has weight been a issue. But a comfort strap sure helps! |
