Hello group,

let me tell you something to introduce myself to this forum:
yesterday my decision was fixed !
I am an owner of a beautiful 98 Rogue 5 Superb Walnut.
Until now i was an owner of many different basses like fender, status, yamaha etc. My last instrument was a Spector NS5 CRFM with a really good, transparent (as i thought) and powerful sound, excellent design and handling.
I was convinced that there could not be many differences between Spector and Alembic. Both are high-end basses.
Unfortunately I got the possibility to test the alembic during a session with my band (thx lothar - he is my favorite bass dealer).
The difference is unbelievable. Compared (!) to the Alembic the Spector sounds only loud. There is no transparency and life in the tone. Simply unacceptable!
Rigth after playing the first few tones my decision was made: this beauty will be mine !
Have a look here:

Now I am working on buying (paying) the same bass as a fretless. Unfortunately this model is on stock ;-(

Welcome home Kalle.
That is a beautiful bass. It sounds like you're hooked proper on Alembic.
I love the grain patterns that one gets from walnut. Each one is different.

Brother Kalle,

wie geht es Ihnen.
Spider Ollie will jump up and smile by the obviously deep sound of more germanwise members.
Man ...it is GOOD to have you here!
We can see that you are addicted already!
There is no good medical cure against it. I DO can recommend a good friedn of mine Paul the good one who is a beer brewer. His medecine helps in 99,9% of the times. However ...you being in Germany ...well ...it's something like us being in Belgium. We're kinda fond on beer-brewing.

NICE BASS!
Definitely!

Spider Ollie will lend you a pair of nylon stockings (you only need one) and I think that teh Bayrrische Landesbank in Munchen urgently need a visit LOL.

Paul the bad one

PS: stay away from Aachen because Ollie is busy there robbing his Spider 8 HA!!!!!!

Uaaah,
who awakened me?
Hey how great to see another member in Germany.
Kalle, many congrats on the bass. Seems you got it from S-M?
I own a Spyder 4 and a Spyder 8 and I am a great
John Entwistle fan......
And as Paul TBO said, always on the search for more money to invest in new instruments.... :-)

Take care

Kalle,

From one Rogue owner to another, welcome to the club. Yes, you are on the road to a nice clean adddiction. Not to worry, it's a good thing.

Pretty bass. Do you plan to get a matching one for the fretless like Bro Rami?

hey people,
yesterday i had my first gig with my alembic. it was a small club-gig wihout pa, only the sax and the bassdrum were miked. i played may bass through my glockenklang soul and the glockenklang quattro 4 x 10 box. amazing ! absolute clear, powerful and well balanced sound.
my girlfriend heard this combination for the first time an she was impressed:" until now i only heard that there is a bass but today i recognized every single note!"
yes the alembic and the glocks rock the house.
the only very serious disadvantage:
this bass allows no faults, you simply hear every imperfection. ;-)

yeah palembic, our bass needs the right amp. which else than a glock is capable to deal with all the small variations of the alembics ? none !!!!
which rig do you play ?

palembic definetely a very nice setup !
but this rig would be to much for me ;-)
such a long time i struggled around with two boxes different effects and so on. no i am quite happy to have one single box and one case with the soult top and a korg dtr-2 tuner. that is all i need !
pure sound and keep it simple....

Oh ...I bet I end up at your side of the bench. But now I'm still an idiot with a lot of knobs to tweak. It will chnage ...it will change ...eventually ...ever ...
