The name's Luke Fancy. I hail from the east coast, Nova Scotia; a quaint and overlooked part of Canada.

I play in a blues band and I'm sort of following my family's tradition: my father played in the Dutch Mason Blues Band for about 10 years in the 1970s-1980s. If you don't know, Dutch Mason was hailed as one of the greatest blues players in Canada, earning him a spot in the Order of Canada and dubbed The Prime Minister of Blues by B.B. King. Other than the blues I love playing classic rock, progressive rock, and heavy metal.

I personally despise what the music industry today has become, everywhere I turn there's some new "pop sensation" or a pop-punk/rock group at the top of the charts, and I swear, there are so many rap artists these days it's hard to tell where they all come from. Plus all this contemporary stuff has no right to call itself R&B. Real R&B is Motown and Aretha Franklin and all that jazz.

Other than that bit of ranting, I'm a pretty good guy. My main instrument right now is my Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass, which I love. It may be a Squier but it plays way better than any other Fender I've played. I decided to start a bass collection a year ago and once I get the money I hope to have a really good collection by the time I'm dead, lol. I hope to get myself an Alembic at some point, but especially in Canadian dollars, I'm afraid any Alembic is out of my price range.
