Don't know if I've introduced my self before, but that's no biggie. I'm just a old musician, de-retiring. I've got an Orion. http://d108873.u27.infinology.net/images/scarface_399.jpg |

Greetings reforming lurker!!! Welcome to the party. Nice looking Orion. Posting pix early on saves us all from listening to the droning of: "pictures...pictures...pictures...". Your description ("old musician, de-retiring") fits me too. Well, one thing I know for certain: They didn't have excellent extracurriculars like this Club when I was younger and playing actively. Hope to hear from you! Bill |

Brother Larry, welcome to this club and i just LOVE your word "De-retiring". I must admit that this whole club is about de-ritiring. Alembic basses are the ultimate tools for de-retiring. Paul the bad one PS: this has a lot to do with marketing and segmentation. I my courses marketing (last year 3th year high-school) I ALWAYS worked with the Alembic example in "best-practice" examples. |

Thanks. I had thought about playing again for the past 4 years, but until I bought the Orion, I never made a move on the impulse. After I bought it, on Ebay, my wife said, "I guess you're de-retired; go get an amp." http://d108873.u27.infinology.net/images/mar12.jpg This is why I married her; she knows me better than I do myself. Hi Larry, congratulations first on the great wife, second on the Orion. After looking at your amp photo I think you're going to need some more speakers! That looks like some serious power. Sam |

I've got a Hartke 4.5XL and another 2x10 I can throw in there. Picture there is a Basson B15b cab, hidden behind the basses is a Acme Low B2 and a Legion Sound 2x10. The pre is a BBE Bmax. For power, I've got a QSC RMX850 bridged into the Low B2; everything else is powered by a Legion Sound PX-600. And she encouraged me to buy this stuff! Wotta Gal!! |

Welcome oh "old" one. I just turned 51 and I've never felt younger....these instruments have a way of bringing out the kid in a person. Enjoy! |

Hollis: You and I are in agreement! When younger, I'd never been able to afford these toys. |

It's nice that sometimes age can bring a little more financial capacity. When I think of the rough rigs I played through when I was young - I'd have croaked for a chance to play with what I've put together now... |

Yeah, sometime I just look at it and wonder if having decent equipment when I was a working musician would have changed anything. Then I say naaa! We would have still blown-up, anyhoo! |
