Just won an Alembic Electrum on ebay with the 3 single coils and a cocobolo top. Don't really know what to expect as I've never played one, but I am psyched. Not too much info anywhere on the Electrums, but I'll post some pics once I get it. I'm buying from the original owner, and it's a 1985. Did I mention that I'm psyched?

Scott:

Congrats and welcome to the club. My first Alembic was also an Electrum. You're gonna love it. You've never played a guitar with such a clean and present tone before. Looking forward to pics.

Bill, the guitar one

Thanks for the welcome Bill. I just talked to the seller, and he is including the original spec sheet and stuff that came with it when he first got it - c'mon Fedex (in about 4 days)!

Congratulations, ___________I have to add that in April 2009 I won a single pickup Alembic Distillate on ebay as well ; I was PSYCHED as well ! In fact I was so psyched that I arranged a personal pickup with the seller for 2 days later . I was in Northern California and my newly won Distillate was in San Diego. Yes I was psyched and I wanted to pick it up in person so I drove down in one Day and back the same . LOL _!!!! I left at 4AM and got back home at 8:30 PM.

OK_ ALRIGHT_ been there and done that now !

Anyway ________I can relate to your happiness !

Hello Scott, and welcome to the club! Have a great time with your new guitar. There's a wealth of information on the forum here, and a load of friendly people to answer your questions as well. Check out the Showcase and the Must Reads / FAQs sections for a good start.

Thanks Mike. Are you (like me) a Dada fan? I've checked the showcase, thanks for the tip on the Must Reads/FAQ's, I'll check that now.

Hey, Scott,
a warm welcome to the club and greetings from the other side of the pond. Enjoy your new baby !

Don't know if Mike is a Dada fan, I've only met him once. There is a different explanation for his screen name, though... lookaheer, what's in a name... also fun to read, like many threads here.

Hey, where is Ramis cookie recipe ? :-)

cheers, Christian

ok,
so here's a pic.It has a couple of cracks in the cocobolo, and no switch knob and some wear around the switch, otherwise looks to be in very good shape.

Looks like you have a healthy collection of guitars there. It will be good to hear what you think of this in comparison to your other guitars.
