Does Alembic do any carving to the body like you see on the Scott Walker guitars? I thought I saw a picture of #1 with carving on the back. I did a search for carve, but mostly came up with irrelevant (but interesting) threads. Here is an example of what I am talking about I assume this would have to be at least a double thick laminate. Has anybody seen pictures of Alembic's with carvings like this on them? Todd. |

I guess this one is from the early days, and there is the one from But I don't recall seeing of any pictures of recent models with elaborate carvings like that. There is the johnny Winter Alembic guitar. http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/69002.html?1250890900 Jazzyvee |

I believe that is the back-side of Alembic #1. At least, that is what it says here Thanks for the photo. Todd. |

That is the back of #1 and we do carving on special request. The Tribute guitars have a carved top, and the Kit guitar has a little curly-cue carving detail on the upper horn. Any other carving is done on a custom basis. |

It's not really a carved top - the edge is routed with an ogee profile - the top is completely flat. But it does have a carved look to it. |

Did someone say 'Round Rock'? I'll be down there for Easter and a couple other times during the year. Hmmm, interesting thoughts . . . To keep on topic. The guitar in the first post made me think of David King basses (although, he's carved back on the body options - groan, no pun intended). Not sure it's for me, but it looks nice while still holding to a 'traditional" body shape as in the above pic. |

Looks like someone else liked body carving. See here on ebay. How well do you think it will clean up? Todd. |
