Yep, someday, I want to venture even further out with a wonderful instrument that looks like a bass, but can sound like Bartok playing with Eno. I know Mark Warr can do this, but (gasp) might the gods and goddesses of Alembic offer such a custom tool for me someday? With a simple flick of a switch or gentle tap of a foot, to go from brutal bass thunder to the sound of rain and the treated voice of TS Eliot being bent into synth bliss and shaped by my fingers and feet. Wake me if I'm dreaming. ; ) | ||

In another thread, Mica wrote "we've installed various Roland pickups in both basses and guitars, each job is quoted separately as there are no fixed costs since these items change frequently and how you integrate them into the onboard electronics can vary". I am not a fan of the GK style Roland pickups due to tracking issues.... Ive played several Godins and even w/ the nylon strings the saddle seated MIDI transducers are far better. If I was to do an Alembic w/ MIDI, triggers in the saddle would be the only way to go..... |
