Upgrading electronics

There are three types of Q controls, and here's what I think I remember from previous discussions. The standard two position switch is either off or provides 8db boost. The three position switch found on Series I instruments is 0/+6db/+9db boost. Series electronics take up so much room, that they have to route-out the instrument and there just may not be enough room left on your bass. If they can do it, you can bet it will be EXPENSIVE, LOL! Remember that +3 dB will double the effect, -3 dB will halve it. So with 8+1=9 dB and 8-2=6 dB your options are: (1) a bit more than what you now have, and (2) half of your new maximum boost. The Q switch on my Spoiler is being reconfigured, because the standard +8 dB is much too twangy to my ears. Same reason why I don't like the Essence package: Q boost is always on. Mine will probably end up as a 0/+3/+6 dB configuration - some options are still under discussion.
