So nice to see this. It's about time. I am only aware of 4 Alembics with Amboyna. Pele, my custom Essence, COTM 11/2002 Autumn Delight, which Mica claimed was mislabeled in the write up, and the 5 string Essence in the picture section. There may be others that are below the radar, but still a very unique choice. Let the wait begin. Congratulations. T |

So they couldn't find a less spectacular piece? ;) Mighty fine! Can't wait to see how this shapes up as a bass. |

What a start Jerry! One of the nicest slabs I have seen I'm subscribed to this thread. Do you have a formula yet? |

I do, but mum's the word for now. I'm sure there will be a forthcoming FTC thread in the next year sometime. |

When the picture first popped up, my reaction was "What the heck is that huge pizza?" Stunning wood. Just amazing. |

There have been developments, but they are minor so far. I picked out the back piece and I am told the neck lams were selected. Maybe an FTC thread will be started soon, but I'm guessing it will be at least several more weeks. I'm referring to it as "Mystic Pizza" (anyone that grew up in the 80's will probably get the reference) based on everyone's initial reactions. Now pizza is all I can think of when I see it! |

Does that mean a laser-etched portrait of Lili Taylor on the back???? Peter (whose kids grew up in the '80s, but got the reference anyway) |
