Hi folks, I'm soon going to be adding a filter and Q to my new Zebra-Excel and was wondering what the best layout would be. To start with, I would like to get the jack socket moved to the edge of the bass, so that would free up one spot for either a knob or the Q switch itself. Maybe I could rearrange the knobs to have vol, balance, filter, bass and treble, with the Q switch above the filter knob in the centre of the smiley face? Of course it's possible they might only *fit* into the cavity in certain combinations, so this might be a moot question! Cheers, EG |

Ok, Ok, don't all speak at once! ;) Can anyone tell me what the standard bass and treble boost frequencies are on these models? There was some mention of adding it to the FAQ, but I couldn't find it. Cheers, EG |

Hi Justin What you're describing is the east meets west electronic package..filter, Q switch, active treble and bass. Moving the output jack may leave too big of a hole in the front..1/4" jack needs a 3/8" hole. 'vol, balance, filter, bass and treble, with the Q switch', you're description is the layout for e-m-w. The filter should fit to control cavity. I'd contact Alembic directly for setup etc. G |

I tend to agree with Gary that the layout question might best be made directly to Mica or Val. As to the frequencies question, I don't think there has been a post made to the forum that addresses that question. (Message edited by davehouck on November 28, 2005) |

Thanks guys, it will all come out in the wash anyway. As soon as I've got all the bits ready, I'll take it to Jeff Mallia here in Sydney and he can let me know how it will fit best. No point theorising about layouts that aren't possible or leave gaps around knobs, etc. Cheers, Justin |
