It will have been nearly three years since our last price increase when the new prices come into effect December 1, 2011. Having this much advance notice will hopefully give everyone a chance to purchase their Alembic at the current prices. We have had increases in just about every area you can imagine. There have been increases in energy, raw materials (especially wood), electronics, freight and insurance to mention a few. Since March 2008 our employees have forgone any wage increases in a joint effort to hold prices for as long as possible. We have absorbed all we can so a price increase is necessary in order to continue to bring our customers this level of consistent quality. Other guitar companies during this same period raised prices by as much as 36% in a year. Our increase is modest by comparison but substantial enough to make a difference. The Series I and II models will increase by approximately 10%, all other models will increase by approximately 15%. The increases on Custom Options will vary some will not change at all. We look forward to building your instruments for years to come, many of which are destined to become family heirlooms. |
