Having heard that Gil had passed away, I went to one of my favourite GSH tracks 'B Movie'
and discovered some great footage of a series 1 or 2 in action. Does anyone know who the bass player is?

Thanks for that, and embarrassing to see he's based in the UK (where I am) and with name checks to lots of bands that I listen to.

Respect to the encyclopaedic knowledge of the Alembic club membership!

Although it isn't an Alembic, you should check this out for great fretless work (the solo kicks in from about minute 7):
