I just bought this baby last week. It's a 96 bass however it was never owned by anyone. It was at the store since 1996 and is their old stock but it's a brand new because I'm her 1st owner. Because of this the price was almost what you'd expect for used ... very sweet. I think I'll call her "Cupcake" because she's my sweet treat for one! front

She may be a simply SC Standard with no extra bells or whistles but she's the best playing best sounding bass I've ever held. I also have a 88 Persuader and 95 Epic. But she's the pride of my collection!close

Wow, beautiful bass, stunning quilt (5A?) indeed! Cupcake really is a sweet and fitting name for her!

When I saw that bass hanging in the music store with the SOLD tag on it, there were 3 musicians looking at it with their jaws on the floor. Mine shortly followed as the pics do NOT do this bass justice.

Jonathon

What a great looking instrument. Is that a 5A top? If it is, it happens to be one of my personal favorites. Good luck and congratulations on adopting Cupcake!

Actually "Cupcake" is totally standard. It's 3A quilt ... however it's a stunning example. I just rehearsed with my band and oh what a joy it is playing her. I think she's founf a home for life! And she thanks you all for the complements!

This bass looks exactly like my first ALEMBIC, but as I recall my bass was built in 1995. I wish that I still had ALL of my ALEMBICS, but that's what dreams and memories are for. Right? Enjoy and try your best to keep ALL of your ALEMBIC basses. I guess your wondering why I said ALL? Believe me, this bass may be your first ALEMBIC, but it certainly will not be your last...:-)

Funny! First I thought itīs the one which is offered right now in my country, Germany. I already thought about bying it, but now when I see the pictures (your scans are much better) -I have to contact that dealer!
Get much fun with your alembic!
Many greetings from Germany
