I'm learning this track "Word Up" and was watching the video on you tube an at approx 2:19 into the video some guys come out from behind a door. I'm sure the first guy out is carrying an Alembic bass. He passes the screen in under a second so you have to be quick. of course I may be wrong. Have a look for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZjAantupsA&feature=youtu.be&t=2m18s Jazzyvee |

Interesting - I tried to freeze it as he goes by - to me it looks like a Spector? It's maybe unusual because the headstock is natural wood, not black like you might expect with a Spector, but maybe the ones back then were more boutique? Obviously I don't know a lot about Spectors! |

It's a hard call as the bass goes bye so fast and quite hard to freeze frame it without a blurred image. Jazzyvee |

The bass is a Spector NS 1. A very cool bass from back in the day. Here's a link to Spector's historical page: http://www.spectorbass.com/about/spector_years_1.html And here are a couple of links to Aaron playing his: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biNqGRhYwHE&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GMSay6GWHI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u37vi8d2_BM |

To the best of my knowledge Aaron still plays the Spector along with a 5 string Fender Jazz bass. An under appreciated bassist in my opinion. I filled his position when he left the Bob Funck Band a few years back. Keith |

Man I need to get my eyes checked. Sure looks like an Alembic Logo when I freeze the image. |

When I freeze it, I see a headstock mounted truss rod cover. |

I still think it's a Spector - the top of the headstock doesn't look like a crown to me, it's more rounded. |

It does seem to have a truss rod cover on the headstock, but click frame by frame and look at the logo. Must be a trick my mind seeing the Spector Logo as an Alembic Logo. |
