The Europa looks like a very comfortable, balanced body style. Tag it with Series electronics and ka-ching! It's a winner. Happy bass lines to you John. |

Great Looking Europa!! Your (Series) pickup arrangement looks similiar to my Custom (Series sans filters)... Is the space between the end of the fretboard and the start of the neck pickup 1.750" by any chance? |

Thanks guys. It sure is a joy to play. Series electronics are amazing. Richard i see we live in the same state i hope to make it to the next local gathering i will bring this baby there. The spacing is 1-1/2" between fretboard and pick up. I think the black plate creates an illusion of wider spacing. Hope to get a couple more pictures up soon. The headstock is 4 plus 1 design with inlaid shell logo. |

the 12th fret is just a beautiful pc of black tahitian mother of pearl and the 24th fret is a bible verse reference (Psalm 103 bless the Lord oh my soul)) to a song from the musical Godspell. I play a lot of local musical theater and Godspell is one of my favorites. Also, i play for Harvest Bible Chapel on Sundays So, the two tied in nicely together. |

Hope to see ya` John at the next Chicago gathering (I REALLY hope the good folks at Alembic can set this one up: I`m stoked). I will definitely bring my Series Custom as well! Speaking of Chicago gatherings I almost had the guts to go through and meet with Henry at Bag End (we spoke on the phone - I think I chickened out) to put together a Rig running the Powered Cabs along with my SF-2, since my bass IS filter-less, DS-5 powersupply and Filtered Power housed in a custom made rack... Series electronics are amazing! I wanted the increased spacing (1.750") to accommodate some slapping and yet keep the low end going... Mica was pretty persistant to make sure I understood the separation of pickup and fingerboard distance! How do you like the ebony laminate; no lack of Low end/ fundamental there, right? Nice choice on the old style Hat knobs too. Awesome 24th inlay. I`ve (also) had the chance to play (The S I-II) at our church Lakeland (E-Free) in Gurnee a number of times; trade off with my Elan 6 string. Again beautiful instrument, Rich |

Perhaps that Bass will be that "Fits All " Bass of your dreams. Congratulations ! I like it too ! Henry , I think that many felines have a propensity to jealousy issues ___ just my 2 cents on cats . |

Thanks, i do love it! This bass started when i spotted the Masur Birch wood in the wood bank under the title "out of left field." Thus, this is what it became.. John |

Very much a dog man myself, but in 1978-79 I shared quarters with the guitarist I was doing sound for & his cat. He'd blow town for a few weeks & she'd go absolutely neurotic, chasing stuff that wasn't there & such. His first morning home, he'd invariably find a mouse head (usually with spine) on the other pillow. And any time a woman spent the night (with one exception; told him he should marry her because of it) the cat would piss in his bed. And we need better pix of that bass, John! Peter |

Wow that is amazing. Is that the natural colour or does it have a slight tint? You have two superb Europa Series basses. :-) |

I believe the original owner would have to specify that as part of the build. As other threads have noted, the standard depths of all basses other than Series present difficulties for fitting everything inside the body cavity. |
