Notice the irregularities in the maple top on the upper part of the body. Almost looks like I spilt something on it. Also, the neck pickup is closer to the neck than the other Essences I have seen pictures of. But I love it! |

Seems to be all maple. I now wonder how a mahogany one would sound. |

I checked the Essences out on the web before making the trade. The fact that this headstock is no longer standard, made it easier to do the switch. I love the look of that headstock |

That is a very nice looking Essence! I have an all maple Elan fretless, and it's sound is very different from my mahogany Rogue. They both have roundwounds, and the Elan's tone is more "Rickenbacker like" when I play open strings. Obviously, the fretless notes sound different. The maple is very warm to me and has a good weight. And, it's a beautiful wood! Enjoy!!! Stephen |

Thanks! Yes, I'd love to try a mahogany one, but I doubt I ever will. It does have quite a lot of Rickenbacker in it, which I really love. |
