Hi folks, i got this one last week from a bassist in belgium, nice guy and a good player as well. He made me a great deal on it, this bass
is from 1990 and is still in a great shape. There is only one issue at the upper horn, where a pre-owner screwed a whole for a strap (very dumb), he felt probably uncomfortable with the regular strap position of the short scale alembics. I have a luthier who will make it almost invisible. Anything else is just like new.
It has red side dots. The neck is unbelievable to play,i never held a bass like this into my hands.
The bass is still tuned A D G C (thatīs tenor, isnīt it?) and sounds 100% like Stanleys shorty.
So finally i got 4 alembics (2 seriesI, 1 custom made and this one) and each sounds different, very unique but still always like an alembic.
Here comes the pictures:

Those knobs are the CVQ. I seem to recall Afrobeatfool has them on his short scale Series II bass also.

That is correct. I like them Very much, thank you. I think of them like this.... Instead of having a 3 way toggle switch between high and low pass filter, you have a continuous turn of the dial so you have ALL the filter without having to find the sweet spot on each setting. Great for on the fly adjustment on stage!

Ur both right jazzyvee and afrobet fool, thatīs what the knobs are all about. Meanwhile i can say, the bass is the best sounding Alembic i have ( iīve got 4), the only one problem is, lights on stage or everywhere else create sometimes a lot of noise, i have to get this fixed, it is really disturbing, thanks god in the studio it is ok.

There is an RF Interference Upgrade you can get from alembic to fix that noise problem.

But first, make sure you're plugged into a different circuit than the lights (not just a different outlet, a different circuit). Stage lighting usually = rheostats, and rheostats = noise.

Thx for all advises, Peter i know about that, especially in theaters it is sometimes heavy because they have all the plugs in one circuit, then i use my custom made alembic with EMW electronics, that one is crystal clear. Once a while, when i come back to california iīll do the upgrade, even it might change the sound a little bit, what it probably does as Jimmy Johnson told me about his 5 string. Meanwhile i have a first version of the music video we did in LA summer last year, itīs not the final cut but it is very funny, check it out....!
