If you look under Showcase -> Series 1 -> Ernie's Bubinga, you'll see another Series 1 with that body style. Ernie's is an '85. Reid, oottpi (One of those that posts infrequently) | ||

Ruby Starr was her name, oh (Sorry , my granddaughter's 4th birthday party was last night.) Mike P.S. I saw Ruby touring with her band, "Grey Ghost" in Iowa in the 70s just before she hooked up with BOA (who I also saw at the University of Dubuque with Iron Butterfly with Pinera and Rhino in 1970. | ||

You're refering to the live Toad from Wheels of Fire, right? Brilliant! His solo from Blind Faith is good also. I have a cd of the Graham Bond Organization with Ginger & Jack. His solo on that has a lot of the elements from Toad predating Cream by a few years. Good stuff with Jack on the upright bass. I always wanted to be a drummer but couldn't get all four hands and feet doing different things at the same time. Sam | ||

ginger was still doing great work, much more recently. if you haven't heard these discs already, consider checking out 'going back home' and 'falling off the roof', with bill frisell and charlie hayden. also delightful is 'coward of the county' by ginger and the denver jazz quintet, with a few guests that include the terrific james carter on bass clarinet & bari sax (cousin-instruments from the world of wind, for us bass-types!) these cds are from the late '90s, after ginger had, in fact, fallen off the roof of his house and messed up his right (i think) shoulder marc | ||

Two other recent recordings worth checking out are Masters of Reality's Riding on the Sufferbus (not sure of the spelling) and Public Image Limited's CD. Ginger proves he still has it on both. Sam | ||

I'm sure the DVD will be very good but to see them live, that would be great. I've seen EC and GB seperatly. I've not had the pleasure of seeing Jack live. I don't know if there is a Cream version of the "Dead Head" but if there is that would be me. | ||

Sam, that would be the 1993 Masters of Reality recording called 'Sunrise on the Sufferbus'. It's one of my favourite rock albums of all time. Highly recommended, and not only because of Ginger's excellent drumming! Wilfred | ||

Well here's where I drive it off into the ditch: I can't stand Jack Bruce ! ! ! There, I said it. I can't believe Eric's gonna let himself in for this misery, but I can believe easily that it took him thirty years and sobriety to get over it where he can play with these 2 clowns again. Brother Joey ... why should we??? It's your opnion. I ithink that -in it's time "wrap"- Cream was for me amazing and the show in London COULD be special for me I think. To revive good memories, but when you talk the Nathan /Eric combination I completeley agree ...in THIS time "wrap". I am reluctant to compare in time. I have to get a good laugh in here. I can't think of a time I saw someone get blasted (well a both-barrels blast, anyway) here that didn't deserve it. Joey, having an opinion doesn't warrant a blast. I doubt any one of the three is so poor that they had to do a buck-raising gig. Maybe they're doing it for the fans. You know, giving us geezers one more nostangic thrill before we croak. Pure speculation here, but maybe they liked being on stage together but couldn't stand the tour bus. Four nights in the same venue might not be too bad. Rich | ||

Well Cream was a great group and I'm glad to see a reunion but I have to laugh when I think back to the infamous on stage fist fight between Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. I hope they are all grown up now. |
